At first, I pretend I know everything
I went to my local hardware, Hankins True Value, to get some stainless steel for a Theremin antenna. I found a flat 4” x 6” piece plus a straw-shaped, 12” tube. Perfect! I just need to figure out how to join the two together and I’ll have an antenna that looks just like the type they show in the Theremin instructions. As I stare pondering how to join them, an employee asks if I need any help. I asked, “Yeah, do you have any suggestions on how I should join these two pieces together?” She quickly responded, “I’d solder them together.” I was a bit leary so I asked if the solder would take to the steel. Her response: “I’m not sure, I don’t know much about soldering.”
Gee, thanks for you initial answer.
